THE GREAT CONJUNCTION after 20 years from 2020
You must have seen a lot number of posts about the celestial event, great conjunction. This seems contradictory that the conjunction will occur again about twenty years from now but let us see how this incident was so special in 2020 and why people popularised it as a once in 800 or 400 years event.
Jupiter takes about 12 years to orbit the Sun whereas Saturn which has a larger orbit, takes 29 years.
It is evident that there will a time when these planets cross each other and can be seen very close to each other from the Earth.
Doing simple maths, you get that this event should happen after every 20.8 years.
Why this hype in 2020 then?
Why conjunction 2020 is special?
It is not possible to see it when it happens in the East due to the effect of the sun. This time it was occurring in the direction of sunset (west/southwest) so it was the most easily visible conjunction since 1226CE. The difference between the angle of observations of both the planets from earth was closest since 1623CE.
SO, IN 2020 IT WAS THE MOST EASILY-CLEARLY VISIBLE CLOSEST CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER-SATURN. EACH WORD HERE HAS ITS IMPORTANCE THAT JUSTIFY THIS HYPE OTHERWISE THIS INCIDENT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN IN 2040.
SHARE THE INFO WITH ALL WHO ARE TALKING OF IT.
